The Friends of Coxe Park (FOCP) is a neighborhood advocacy group that seeks to revitalize and maintain Coxe Park and Playground to create an ideal space for safe play as well as a focal point where neighbors meet, socialize, and host events. The revitalization of key aspects of the community pocket park and the renovation of major areas of the playground will contribute to:
  1. Repairing and renovating the areas of the park that have been damaged by use;
  2. Making the existing playground and equipment safer;
  3. Mindfully incorporating historical and new ideas to improve the current layout.

This project will improve the quality of life for the diverse residents and families of the neighborhood by providing a safe, welcoming, vibrant, and attractive park to congregate, connect, and cultivate a community of care.

The Friends of Coxe Park is open to anyone who is interested in participating and supports our mission.  We are currently (i) raising funds to support improvements to Coxe Park, (ii) pursuing design options that will be carefully based on input from all users of the park, near neighbors, all stakeholders, the LSNA, elected representatives, and local advocacy groups and (iii) liasoning with the park's owner, the City of Philadelphia - Parks and Recreation Department, to make the improvement of Coxe Park a reality.
